Our client is in search of a Senior Backend Engineer/Senior Envoy Engineer to join their platform mission based in Stockholm, Sweden. This mission is responsible for managing the perimeter infrastructure, including their Envoy-based reverse-proxy that handles all external traffic. The goal is to enhance the security of their perimeter by implementing features such as rate limiting and WAF.

What they will be working on:
Over the next 6 months, our client is focused on implementing multiple layers of protection on their perimeter to defend against malicious traffic such as DDoS attacks and web scraping. While it's impossible to completely eliminate these problems, they aim to significantly improve their platform's ability to combat them.
They have 3 main deliverables in this project:
- Implementing rate limiting on the perimeter
- Creating a per user/client quota system
- Implementing a WAF and blocking API functionality

The Role:
We are in need of a highly skilled senior backend/infra engineer with expertise in Envoy to join our client's dedicated team working on Envoy.

Relevant skills required:
- Strong experience with Envoy (critical as they will be writing Envoy filters)
- Proficiency in either C++ or go (experience in at least one is essential)
- Familiarity with web application security (desirable but not crucial)
