Role Summary:

As a Systems Architect you will play a critical role in designing a comprehensive system architecture. Your expertise will help streamline operations and enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation: Architect and develop scalable, robust, and highly available system architectures using cloud services (like Azure), incorporating elements such as API gateways, microservices, service meshes, and databases. This includes defining the structure of system components, their interfaces, and the data that flows between them.
  2. Technology Integration: Integrate various technologies and platforms, such as Node.js, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Camunda BPM, and Elasticsearch, ensuring seamless communication and functionality across different modules and services.
  3. Microservices Management: Develop and manage microservices, ensuring they are designed for failure, can scale horizontally, and support agile deployment and development practices.
  4. Security and Compliance: Implement and oversee security policies, authentication services, and data protection protocols to ensure the system is secure and complies with all relevant regulations and best practices.
  5. Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, adjust architecture as needed, and optimize resource usage to handle load and maximize efficiency. This may involve caching strategies, load balancing, and performance tuning.
  6. Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to align architectural designs with business goals and product roadmaps. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 7 years of experience in systems architecture, with a focus on process automation and system integration in a government setting.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certifications are highly desirable.

• Proven expertise with the Camunda BPM platform and BPMN/DMN standards, with hands-on experience in workflow design and deployment.

• Extensive knowledge of Node.js development practices and experience with microservices architecture.

• Proficiency with Azure cloud services and understanding of government IT security and compliance regulations.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to address complex issues and translate policy and operational requirements into technical architecture.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging and articulating technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
